Shabonee, WO Receive PBIS Recognition

Wood Oaks and Shabonee Schools have received special recognition from the Illinois PBIS Network for the 2013-14 school year.

The Northbrook District 27 schools received silver recognition from the organization, one of 346 schools in the state to receive the designation.  Schools were recognized at four different levels, based on implementation and outcome data.

PBIS, which stands for Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports, promotes student success by building positive school culture, providing informative corrective feedback, maximizing academic success, and acknowledging the use of positive social skills.

At Shabonee, the staff has implemented the SWIM program (Show Respect, We’re Responsible and I’M Kind.)  Wood Oaks has the ROAR program (Respect, Ownership, Advocacy and Responsibility.)
