Staff Gift Card Collection
The Teacher Appreciation Committee is gathering donations for Teacher Appreciation Week and needs your help to surprise our amazing teachers and staff (i.e. support staff, specials teachers, custodial staff, administration, office staff, etc.) with gift cards to some of their favorite places! Please sign up. This will replace our former Adopt-A-Support-Staff gifts. Thank you in advance!
**Calling all former students of Ms. Reed, Ms. Smith and Ms. Gothelf**
Last chance! Ms. Reed, Ms. Smith and Ms. Gothelf are retiring at the end of this year and we want to send them off with wonderful memories on how many lives they’ve impacted. Please consider adding any pictures, fun memories or well wishes to the below memory book by April 22!
If you have trouble accessing the links, please reach out to Nina Stein

2nd Grade Updates
Shabonee School Supplies
Parents of 2nd graders: at Hickory Point, all of your child's school supplies were provided by the school. At Shabonee, the PTA offers a service that allows for all of the necessary supplies to be waiting for your student, in their classroom, on the first day of school. School Supply kits for the 2025-2026 school year are now on sale. The kits include every item (except headphones) that your student will need for their school year. Buying prepackaged kits in bulk saves money and is so convenient. Click this link and enter the school code SHA082 (3 letters/3 numbers). Remember: order the kit for the grade your student will be in starting in August 2025. Order by June 1 for the best price.
Shabonee Spring Family Night
All 2nd Graders and their families are invited to join Shabonee's End of Year Family Night on Friday, May 9th from 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm. It will be a great opportunity for your future 3rd grader to check out their new school.
SQUARE 1 ART
You can start shopping immediately! All items will ship directly to your home within 2-3 weeks of the order date.
See Square 1 Art's FAQs or contact Angie Chmieleski with any questions.
Yearbook
Yearbooks are on sale through Friday, April 25.
It's that time of the year to start personalizing your student's yearbook pages. All yearbook purchases receive 2 free pages that you can add photos or notes for your student to commemorate a year of hard work and fun. Additional pages can be purchased for $1.99 per 2-page spread. Log into your Tree Ring account and start customizing!
Volunteer Opportunities
Bulldog Boutique
Don't miss out on helping with the traveling Bulldog Boutique this school year! We only have three dates remaining to help students exchange their Bulldog Bucks for fun prizes. Parents are invited to sign up for multiple slots. Sign up here to volunteer.
Hot Lunch Volunteering
Please remember the following guidelines for hot lunch volunteering:
- Check in at the school office 5 minutes before your shift.
- Only the designated adult volunteer from the sign-up list will be allowed entry (please note that younger siblings cannot accompany you during this time.)
- Photography is prohibited within the school premises.
- Check in with the Lunch Solutions representative. Your responsibilities will include organizing and serving lunches. It's important to note that we are not responsible for supervising the lunchroom; the school will handle that.
- During your shift, please remain at the hot lunch service tables and refrain from joining students at their lunch tables. Once your shift concludes, promptly check out at the office and remember to take your ID.
You can find available shifts here.
Morning Supervisors
Please consider contributing 30 minutes in the morning to assist in welcoming students as the staff holds their monthly morning meeting. If you're available, your help would be greatly appreciated.
Library Volunteering
Come lend a hand in the school library on Fridays, where you can assist with shelving the circulation after a busy week.
