Hickory Point
Broadcast Club
The broadcast club is for any second grade student who is interested in reporting, filming, interviewing, taking pictures and other aspects of putting together a morning news show. We will have five crews. Each crew will observe for one day and then work on reports to broadcast and film for about six weeks. All interested students will be able to participate. It is important that the student is able to get to school by 7:55 a.m. for the weeks of his/her crew dates.
Grade: 2nd Grade

Champ Camp
This club is for Hickory Point’s youngest bulldogs - Kindergarteners! In this club we will meet new friends from other classes, play games, do crafts, dance, and have fun! Students will also become more familiar and comfortable at Hickory Point. There are several sessions. Each session runs for three weeks.

Kind Kids
The Kind Kids Club is for any first and second graders that love to promote kindness. During each 4 week session we will play games, read stories, and make projects that will promote kindness throughout our school and community.

Shabonee
Broadcast Club
During this school year, 4th and 5th graders have the opportunity to participate in Shabonee’s Broadcast Club. As a member, students can participate in all of the different roles of the production process. They will plan, report, film, anchor, direct, and produce news broadcasts for the Shabonee student body

Lit Lab
Discover the power of creative writing in the Lit Lab! Open to students in grades 3rd-5th, we will explore different activities to get some creative ideas on the page, including how to develop a character, learning about dialogue, crafting that perfect first line, and more! By the end of the session, students may have written a draft of a short story or first chapter of a longer story. Students can also decide to add optional illustrations. This club will meet on Monday mornings in the library for 10 weeks. Students will be notified of exact dates after signing up.

Book Match
Book Match is an exciting and rewarding reading club at Shabonee School. Book Match is a program that encourages teamwork, friendly competition, and the reading of some fabulous books across multiple genres. Students who are interested in participating in this program are encouraged to read 10 or more books from the reading list Opens in New Window .

Come explore how to drive and code Sphero robots. In this club, you will learn the basics of driving the Sphero and how to code the robot to drive a path you design and create. This club is open to 4th and 5th graders. We will meet for five weeks on Monday mornings before school. Students will be notified of exact dates after signing up.

Come learn how to play chess, or challenge someone to a game. Groups will meet once a week, and will be divided into sessions. This club is open to beginning chess players as well as advanced players. We hope you can join us!
