Board Reviews Technology Plan and Budget
Mr. Trevor Hope, the District’s Director of Technology, presented the 2024-2025 Technology Plan to the Board of Education during its regular meeting on April 4. Upgrades planned for the 2024-2025 school year include new interactive whiteboards at Hickory Point, improved audio-visual technology in gyms and event spaces, new laptops for those due on the District replacement cycle, and enhanced access controls districtwide. Included in the upgrades are wall-mounted projectors for each gym, as well as a large projector in the Shabonee Flex Space, all generously donated by the District 27 PTA Council. The upgrades, along with annual expenses and contract renewals, are estimated to cost $1,290,000 or about 3.78% of the District’s overall budget. This projection is a 0% increase over last year. The Board will vote on the technology plan and budget during its next meeting on April 18.
