Welcome to a fun-filled early literacy class designed just for Pre-K children led by two Northbrook moms and former elementary school teachers! In this class, we will explore the magical world of books through interactive read alouds that spark imagination and curiosity. Each session will feature a new story, followed by a hands-on craft activity inspired by the book. Our class encourages creativity, cooperation, and a joy for learning though stories and crafts. Come join us for an exciting adventure in reading!

Northbrook Park District: Spring Soccer Leagues

Spring Soccer League Starts April 5.

Team up with the Northbrook Park District! The emphasis is on the development of the child as an individual and an athlete, rather than the competitive aspect of winning. The program strives to provide a fun and safe atmosphere in which children learn respect, sportsmanship and skills. All players receive equal playing time and are introduced to all positions. Games take place on Saturday between 9am–12pm for grades Pre-K – Kindergarten and 12:30pm – 4:30pm for grades 1–6. No games or practice April 19. Registration deadline: March 3. Northbrook Park District: Boys Lacrosse Leagues

Join the Northbrook Park District for the Boys Lacrosse League for the 2025 Spring Season. The league welcomes all levels of players. Teams will participate and play in the Illinois Boys Lacrosse Association (IBLA) league and instruction is provided by Glenbrook North Coaches. Practices are on Mondays and Wednesdays with games on the weekends. League begins March 17. Players need to bring a helmet, gloves, arm guards, stick, athletic cup and shoulder pads to all games and practices. A team jersey is included in the fee.

5K for CATCH!
When: Saturday, April 5. Check-in starts at 7 am. Race time starts at 8am
Where: Wood Oaks Green Park, 1198 Sanders Road, Northbrook

Description: 5K for CATCH is an endurance event raising money for CATCH, Community Action Together for Children's Health.  Let's erase the stigma of mental illness together and become a community of resilient people who truly value mental health and well-being! The race is open to everyone and families are welcome! Please register!

CATCH Lunch and Learn: My Kid's Been Ghosted! How Do I Help Them?
When: Tuesday, March 11 from 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Where: On Zoom. Please register for this event.
Presenter: Dr. Ashley Leja, PhD, Clinical Psychologist

Description: When kids face exclusion, it can be hard to know how to help. In this session, you’ll discover how to confidently guide your child through friendship struggles, using values as a foundation for support. Gain practical tools to manage emotions—yours and theirs—and foster their ability to overcome tough social situations.

School Day-Off Activities for February 17

The Northbrook Park District has fun activities for every student this President’s Day! Join us on your day off for full-day play, open gym, performances, public skating, hockey, and even activities for the whole family on Monday, February 17! YMCA Navigator Nights for March

Community Wellness Fair, February 22 at Wood Oaks

The District 27 Council PTA is excited to invite the Northbrook community to its annual Wellness Fair! With over 25 vendors and school-sponsored activities on site, you’ll have the opportunity to learn, engage, and access valuable resources to support your family’s well-being. Parents and kids are welcome!
