Northbrook School District 27

Superintendent Weekly Message: August 14, 2020

Dear District 27 Parents,

We look forward to the start of school in just over a week, on Monday, August 24. Please note that this will be an A Day for grades 2-8. The full A/B calendar can be found here. Below are some important items that will help you and your students prepare for the 2020-2021 school year.

Parent Webinars
A series of four parent webinars were held earlier this week. These webinars include an overview of what the school year will look like for students in each building, as well as those who will be learning fully remotely.

Teacher Assignments
Families can now view their child’s teacher placements by logging into the Parent Portal. Instructions for using the Parent Portal can be found here

Safety Protocols
The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) recently released additional safety guidance for schools. Our Administrative Team is working to finalize our document that aligns with this guidance and outlines the specific safety protocols in place at our school buildings. District families can expect to see that additional information by mid-next week. In the meantime, please continue to work with your children to help them recognize the importance of wearing a face mask and maintaining 6 feet of physical distance.

Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to frequently asked questions will continue to be added to our FAQ Resource under the 2020-2021 School Year tab of the District website.

Thank you again for your continued support. It was wonderful to interact with our District families during our webinars. We recognize that this new school environment will be an adjustment for our students, staff and parents, and remain very appreciative of the community’s unified efforts to keep our schools safe.
