Parent Message: Thank you for a great school year!

Dear D27 Families,

As we wrap up the 2023-24 school year, I want to express my sincere gratitude for entrusting District 27 with your child's education and for partnering with us to make this year a great success. Our parent-teacher associations especially go above and beyond with their generous support and volunteerism.

Our students had an amazing year full of academic and social growth. They cheered each other on, worked together to overcome challenges, and dove into new clubs, sports, and interests with enthusiasm.

As a district, we prioritized creating a welcoming and inclusive school environment for all students, staff, and families. We filled the gyms with applause during competitions, assemblies, and concerts, and we relived childhood magic through Wood Oaks’ production of The Wizard of Oz.

Last summer, we reconfigured several learning and working spaces at Hickory Point as we launched the Little Bulldogs early childhood program. This summer, the work continues at Hickory Point with necessary roof, HVAC, and electrical upgrades, along with safety-access control improvements district-wide. Ongoing district-wide facilities planning involves a review of building and operational needs, parking lot and traffic efficiencies, playground accessibility, and monitoring student enrollment.

As we look ahead to the next school year, we are excited about the opportunities that lie ahead.  We wish you a safe and joyful summer and look forward to welcoming you back this fall.
