We have what is hopefully our last SHIELD update for a while, as well as some additional vaccine information. Thank you again for your partnership as we continue to establish SHIELD testing in our schools and get more of our students vaccinated!
SHIELD Schedule Update
Hickory Point: Testing will occur every Wednesday beginning at 8:30 a.m. The first testing date will be this Wednesday, November 10.
Shabonee: The Cook County Department of Public Health has recommended that Shabonee move to a once-weekly testing schedule. This shift to a weekly testing schedule is due to the fact that two weeks have passed since the start of classroom outbreaks and the past two rounds of SHIELD testing have produced all negative results, schoolwide. Testing will begin at 8:50 a.m. each Friday. The next round of testing will be Friday, November 19 since there is no school this Friday.
Wood Oaks: Testing will occur every Friday beginning at 1 p.m. with the next round of testing scheduled for Friday, November 19 since there is no school this Friday.
*** Only unvaccinated individuals will be tested at all three schools. Individuals who have not received both doses of a two-dose vaccine series are considered to be unvaccinated. ***
Submitting Student Vaccine Cards
District 27 is collecting vaccine cards for fully vaccinated students ONLY, meaning they have received both doses of a two-dose vaccine series. Please do not submit your child’s vaccine card until they are fully vaccinated. As a reminder, vaccinated individuals who are close contacts are not required to quarantine so long as they remain asymptomatic.
