New 'Little Bulldogs' Early Childhood Education Program

Dear Parents,

Northbrook School District 27 is thrilled to announce that we will be offering an early childhood program at Hickory Point beginning with the 2023-2024 school year!

The Little Bulldogs early childhood program will serve children ages 3 through 5. This will be a 5-day-per-week program with younger students attending the morning session (9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.) and older students attending the afternoon session (12:15 p.m. to 2:45 p.m.) The registration process will begin with prospective families completing an Interest Form. Community peer slots will be filled via lottery. In-district residents will receive priority registration.

This is the first time District 27 has offered an in-house early childhood program and we look forward to fostering this community connection with our youngest learners. Little Bulldogs will gain important educational and social skills by learning through play and exploration. A blended learning environment, staffed by licensed early childhood teachers and additional specialists, will allow for personalized support such as speech-language or motor development. The goal of this program is to prepare all children to enter a full day of kindergarten. The program will follow the District 27 School Calendar.

Additional information can be found on the Hickory Point website. If you are interested in enrolling your child, please complete the interest form linked above. For questions or additional information, please contact Heather Miehl at miehl.h@nb27.org.

We appreciate your help in spreading the word to anyone who might be interested in enrolling in the program. Thank you for welcoming these Little Bulldogs to the District 27 community!

Sincerely,

John Deiter, Ph.D.
Superintendent of Schools
