Parent Message: March 17, 2021

Dear District 27 Parents,

Thank you for your patience as we continue to evaluate the Revised Public Health Guidance for Schools and determine how it can be best implemented within our District.

Before we make any final decisions, we are soliciting input through Staff Planning Committees this week. We have formed one committee per school to help address the unique needs and circumstances of each building.

We know our District families are eager to receive an update. We can assure you that we will announce our implementation plan by the end of this week.

Important information for those traveling
With Spring Break just a few days away, please check our posted Travel Guidelines that align with current recommendations from the CCDPH and CDC prior to any student travel. The list of orange and yellow states is subject to change on a weekly basis.

Students who have traveled internationally or to an orange state will need to be tested and submit negative test results, as outlined in the guidelines, in order to resume in-person instruction. Below are the email addresses to submit test results:

We are asking all families who plan to travel to an orange state or travel internationally for Spring Break to please complete this form. This will help our school nurses determine who is able to return to school once negative test results are submitted. Please do not reach out to the school nurse to confirm your return. They will only reach out to you if they do not receive test results or the test results are insufficient.

The health and safety of our students and staff continues to be dependent upon our ability to unite as a community and follow the recommended guidelines. Thank you for your support and commitment.
