Parent Message: Administrative Appointment - Wood Oaks Assistant Principal

Dear Parents,

Northbrook School District 27 is pleased to announce that we have selected an incoming Assistant Principal for Wood Oaks Junior High. Mr. Paul Suminski will assume the role on August 1, 2022.

Mr. Suminski brings 18 years of education experience as a teacher and administrator. He was most recently a principal at Lincoln Middle School in Mount Prospect School District 57. Prior to that role, he served five years as an assistant principal at Deer Path Middle School West in Lake Forest School District 67 and seven years as a mathematics teacher in Schiller Park School District 81 and Northbrook/Glenview School District 30. He is passionate about creating strong partnerships with parents, students, and staff. 

The appointment will be officially approved at the Board of Education Regular Business Meeting on May 19.

Mr. Suminski graduated from Valparaiso University in 2004 with a bachelor’s degree in Education before receiving his master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Concordia University in 2007 and master’s degree in Educational Organization and Leadership from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2010.

Mr. Suminiski comes highly recommended, and he is excited to become part of the team at District 27. His collaborative approach to leadership and his dedication to school stakeholders makes him the perfect addition to the District.
