Mrs. Cheryl Kinney to Be Named Assistant Principal of Wood Oaks
Northbrook School District 27 is pleased to announce that we have selected an incoming Assistant Principal for Wood Oaks Junior High School. Mrs. Cheryl Kinney will assume the role on August 1, 2026. The appointment will be officially approved at the Board of Education Regular Business Meeting on May 7.
Mrs. Kinney has served as an eighth-grade math teacher at Wood Oaks for the past 15 years. During that time, she has taken on a variety of leadership roles, including serving as a summer school principal, an eighth-grade team leader, and a mentor leader for the District’s New Teacher Academy. She is highly regarded by both colleagues and supervisors for her leadership and dedication.
Mrs. Kinney earned her bachelor’s degree in math education from Illinois State University in 2009. She later received a master’s degree in mathematics education from National Louis University in 2015, followed by a master’s degree in principal preparation from Concordia University in 2018.
