Parent Message: End-of-year reminders

Dear Parents,

Below are a few important notes for the final days of school, including eighth grade graduation, adjusted bell schedules and bus ridership information. 

Thursday, May 25 – Last day of school for eighth graders
The last day of school for eighth graders will be Thursday, May 25. Eighth grade students will be dismissed at 2:00 PM that day. Bus drop off will occur between 2:00 PM and 3:00 PM depending on ridership. The graduation ceremony will be held at 6:00 PM at Glenbrook South. 

Monday, May 29 – No school
There will not be school on Monday, May 29 due to the observance of Memorial Day.

Thursday, June 1 – Adjusted bell schedule (last day of school for grades K-7)
Northbrook School District 27’s last day of school will be Thursday, June 1. The adjusted bell schedule for that day is as follows:

  • Hickory Point students will attend from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM

  • Shabonee students will attend from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM

  • Wood Oaks students will attend from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM

Adjusted bus schedule for Thursday, June 1
If your child rides the bus, please note the following:

  • Hickory Point 

    • AM Pick Up - Please have your child at their bus stop at their regular pick up time. The school day begins at 8:30 AM.

    • PM Dismissal - All students are dismissed at 11:30 PM. Bus ridership will vary on June 1, therefore bus drop off times will be between 11:30 AM and 12:30 PM. Please make arrangements to ensure an adult or family member is present at home to accept your child.

  • Shabonee

    • AM Pick Up - Please have your child at their bus stop 20 minutes later than their regular pick up time. The school day begins at 9:00 AM. 

    • PM Dismissal - All students are dismissed at 12:00 PM. Bus ridership will vary on June 1, therefore bus drop off times will be between 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM. Please make arrangements to ensure an adult or family member is present at home to accept your child.  

  • Wood Oaks

    • AM Pick Up - Please have your child at their bus stop 15 minutes earlier than their regular pick up time. The school day begins at 8:00 AM.

    • PM Dismissal - All students in grades 6 and 7 are dismissed at 11:00 AM on June 1. Bus ridership will vary on June 1, therefore bus drop off times will be between 11:00 AM and 12:00 PM.
