Capital Projects

On April 1, 2025, voters approved a consensus referendum that allows District 27 to:
  • Sustainably address our facility needs
  • Make our schools even safer
  • Improve learning environments for all students.
This is a significant step forward for our schools. Based on the community engagement feedback, the District created a community-driven plan to establish a debt service extension base (DSEB) of $2.655 million, ensuring we can address current and future facility needs in a sustainable, responsible way. It will make our schools even safer by upgrading infrastructure across the district and ensuring that every student learns in an environment that supports high achievement.

We will continue to update this page with detailed plans and timelines for each project. On behalf of the District 27 administration and Board of Education, thank you for your trust, support, and commitment to educational excellence.

Project Timelines

The timeline for construction is divided into three phases over the span of approximately 3 years:

Planning Phase: Time needed to review concepts, produce construction documents, and receive authorization from the School Board to release for bidding.

Bid Phase: Time for prospective bidders to submit drawings, estimate, and bids for the design and construction teams to analyze and formulate recommendations for School Board approval.

Build Phase: Time needed to award contracts, purchase materials, construct, and turn over to the district to occupy. Durations are designed with the goal of achieving substantial completion before the start of each school year.
